No classic car has a more active global parts market than the Porsche 911. Yet for specific interior trim — particularly on pre-1974 long-hood cars — the sourcing picture becomes as difficult as any other classic. This guide covers the full 1963–1998 air-cooled era.
The Early Cars: 1963–1973
The original 901/911 used door pockets, dashboard trim pieces, and Becker radio surrounds that are genuinely unobtainable from Porsche Classic. The early dashboard uses trim fasteners peculiar to this generation in rapidly depleting NOS supply.
The G-Model (1974–1989)
Porsche Classic covers a significant range of G-model interior components. Difficulty areas are model-year-specific items — the interior specification changed in detail from year to year and parts are not interchangeable across years.
The 964 and 993
The 964 (1989–1994) and 993 (1994–1998) command the highest market values. Airbag trim rings on 993 steering wheels craze. The 964's dashboard top pad develops characteristic craze-cracking. Porsche Classic has gaps around Exclusive specification items.
Across All Generations: Interior Clips and Fasteners
The 911 uses clips specific to the car. AutoClassicX stocks reproduced interior clips and trim fasteners for all air-cooled 911 generations to original dimensional specification.
