How Autoclassicx Keeps Automotive Heritage Alive

How Autoclassicx Keeps Automotive Heritage Alive

Classic cars break down. Parts wear out. Components that were manufactured in the 1970s and 80s weren't designed to last indefinitely. Keeping a classic on the road means accepting that maintenance is ongoing — and that some of what's needed simply isn't available through normal channels any more.

That's the problem AutoClassicX was set up to solve.

The parts gap

Every classic car reaches a point where the factory supply chain runs out. Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, and every other manufacturer eventually stops making spares for older models. The secondhand market picks up some of the slack, but used parts deteriorate too — you're often buying someone else's problem.

Reproduction parts are the answer for many components. Manufactured to original specifications, they fit correctly and perform as the original was intended to. The quality depends entirely on who made them and how.

How we work

We work from original components wherever possible, using them as the basis for reproduction. When an original part isn't available, we work from technical drawings, measurements, and cross-referencing with similar components.

We don't produce generic approximations. The goal is a part that is dimensionally correct, uses appropriate materials, and installs without modification. If it doesn't meet that standard, we don't sell it.

What we cover

Our catalogue covers interior and exterior trim, mechanical components, and body panels across 40+ classic marques. We have particular depth in Mercedes-Benz — covering everything from W108 through to the R129 — plus Land Rover, Jaguar, and a growing range of other European classics.

Interior trim is where most requests come in. Seat belt presenters, door pull handles, dashboard inserts, wood veneer panels — these are the parts that age badly and are first to become unavailable through official channels.

Parts we don't stock

If you need something that isn't listed in the catalogue, use the part enquiry form. We assess every request. If we can source or manufacture what you need, we'll confirm availability and pricing. If we can't, we'll tell you that too.
